After you select the instructor that you’d like to match with, choose the time that best suits you using our simple scheduling tool, and send your request.
Can I look for instructors other than the ones I am matched with?
Learners are matched with the best instructors based on their subject-specific needs, budget, location, educational background and a few other decisive factors. Learners can also browse through our featured and selected instructors at any time.
How can I guarantee that my instructor is qualified?
All our instructors go through a strict vetting process before they become part of the system. Experience, education and qualifications are all taken into serious consideration. Instructors must also demonstrate their teaching ability by giving a demo session before joining our network. So do not worry, you are in good hands!
What happens if the instructor is late to a session?
If the instructor arrives 30+ late to a session, you have the choice to either cancel the session without being charged or begin the session at the new time.
What happens if I am late to a session?
If learners are late to a session, they will be charged the total amount and an instructor can choose to conduct the session only for the remainder of the scheduled time.

What are badges?
Badges are given to instructors and learners.
They can be earned by an endorsement from a learner, instructors or by our team. Badges represent merits and behaviour. You can earn badges to unlock rewards and discounts and award badges to instructors to show them your appreciation.
How can I report a problem with my instructor or session?
You can always let us know how your session went by giving your instructor a rating and a review or submitting a feedback form, which can fill out after your session. When can I cancel a session without being charged?
Learners can reschedule a session at any time before a request is accepted. Once a request is accepted, learners can reschedule the session (1) one time with at least a 12-hour notice.
Learners cannot reschedule a session with less than 12 hours of the scheduled start, they must instead cancel the session and re-book. We understand that things come up, but our instructors work hard to prepare for each and every session, so for sessions cancelled less than 12 hours in advance, learners will be subject to a 15% cancellation fee paid at the time of their next session.

How do I determine my price?

What are tiers?
Tiers are different levels that instructors can reach after meeting certain criteria (years of experience, number of hours taught, commitment rate, response rate and badges earned). The three tiers of instatoot are 1) Grasshopper 2) Guru 3) Grandmaster. The higher the tier is, the more you earn.
Will a low rating affect my profile visibility?
Your overall tier and profile visibility are based on an accumulation of all your ratings, reviews commitment and response rate. Therefore, if you receive one low rating, make sure to do your best in the sessions that follow to ensure higher ratings and earn more badges in order to maintain your tier or even hop forward and tier up!
What is the difference between cancelling and rescheduling a session?
Instructors cannot reschedule sessions; they must cancel them. We understand things come up, so we ask our instructors to utilize their ability to change their availability at any time to avoid any hassle and maintain a high commitment rate. If an instructor cancels a session, for any reason, less than 24 hours before a session they are subject to a 20% fee of the total cost of the session. This fee will be converted to a 20% discount for learners on an upcoming session. If an instructor seeks to cancel the session for purposes of rescheduling with more than 24-hours’ notice they must inform the learner via chat and accept an alternative request from the learner for the new time and/or date.
Where will the sessions take place?
All learners can request in-home sessions. Adult learners can request a session in a pre-approved public space.
Do I need to send any formal papers or certificates in order to apply?
We encourage our teachers to list any relevant certificates they have received in their application as it increases their likelihood for recruitment. Language instructors will have to take a proficiency test before joining the team.
